NED vs ENG 1st ODI Dream11 Prediction GL Teams Tips Playing XI Pitch Report Records Stats Preview

 Preview:

England Squad (ECB)

This will be England’s first ODI after a long wait. Their last series was nearly a year ago against Pakistan, where a new-look squad sealed a famous 3-0 series win after COVID-19 ravaged through the initial team.

The two sides have never met before in official internationals outside of ICC tournaments, with England besting the Dutch in the fifty-over format at the 1996, 2003 and 2011 World Cups, but the Netherlands twice defeating England in the shorter format, recording a famous win at Lord's in the opening match of the 2009 WT20 and then delivering a drubbing at the 2014 event.

The opening partnership of Max O'Dowd and young Vikram Singh has proved to be a productive one of late, the pair averaging over 90 for the first wicket across the previous series, while the return of the veteran Tom Cooper to Orange lends some much-needed experience to a middle order that tended to lose its way through the middle overs. Cooper's arrival goes some way toward filling the gap left by Colin Ackermann and Michael Rippon in the middle, while a promising start for newcomer Teja Nidamanuru also goes some way toward shoring up a batting card that is otherwise rather heavy on bowling all-rounders.

Netherlands vs England 1st ODI

Ground : VRA Cricket Ground Amstelveen Netherlands

Date and Time: 17/06/2022, 02:30 PM IST

Pitch report: In the recent series against West Indies, Netherlands scored 240/7 and 214 batting first. West Indies then scored 308/5 in the third ODI, with Netherlands responding well with 288 on a good surface. Expect a good batting track in this clash. The ground has seen plenty of sun over the last few days and the outfield should be a good deal zippier than it was a couple of weeks ago, with 300 plus scores very much on the table.

Records and Stats:

Head-to-head: Matches 3, Netherlands 0, England 3.

Tom Cooper played the ODI against England in the 2011 World Cup. He scored 47 that day. Overall averages 48.88, but has not played an ODI since 2013.

Jason Roy comes into this series in form. He had a brilliant PSL 2022 campaign and struck 50 and 81 in his last two Vitality Blast matches.

Jos Buttler is expected to bat at four. Buttler has a superb record in ODIs in Europe: 59 inns, 2,021 runs, avg. 43.93, SR 120.15.

Liam Livingstone is one of the best players in white-ball cricket. He recently smashed 437 runs in IPL 2022 at a strike rate of 182.08.

Sam Curran scored 69 and took 5/30 in the same game for Surrey in the Vitality Blast on June 2. But, he is expected to have a limited role with the ball, at least early in the series. Expect Moeen Ali to do some bowling in the middle overs.

Brydon Carse took 5/61 against Pakistan last year. He could be key in the middle overs for England.

In six ODIs against New Zealand and West Indies, Vikramjit Singh made scores of 19, 31, 25, 47, 46 and 54.

Max O’Dowd struck two half-centuries in three ODIs vs West Indies on this ground recently. Also he has scored 509 runs in 10 ODIs at home at an average of 56.55. This includes five half-centuries.
